France is fortunate in having an extensive network of
waymarked paths that allow visitors new to the area to enjoy the mountains with little fear of
getting lost.
Walking maps may be
obtained in at least two bookshops in Sisteron and in the Intermarché at Peipin.
The best and most useful
1:50,000 scale maps are those produced by Editions
Didier-Richard. The local map is Number 28 (Haute Provence; Lure - Val de Durance -
Buech) and shows all the available footpaths
in the area. More detailed 1:25,000 scale maps are available from the IGN
- sheets 3339ET, 3339OT, 3340ET and 3341OT cover the local area.
