Snow on the Tête de Clotinaille

The reason you see a lot of snow here is because this photo was taken on an April expedition during the UK's foot-and-mouth season of 2001. In fact, the soaring season in this part of France extends from February through to October, with peak periods in March/April (for the wave) and July/August (for long, hot, thermic days).
