It's Raining Again


Driest part of journey

So far this season we have had 220 refinished, had both panels rebuilt, upgraded our Flarm, joined the CAA Register, ran through the EASA transition process, fought back at Mode S, beaten some hackers and still had the time to fly in the UK on the pitifully small handful of opportunities available. Now, it's payback time: three whole weeks dedicated to flying in the French Alps. What could possibly go wrong?? 
The cashier at the final payage had it about right. "Ha! Hello English! With your English weather...". Yep, rain, rain, rain. Today was a washout and there is little expectation of any decent flying until the coming weekend. A couple of gliders (why yes, they were British, as it happens) played chicken over the other side of the valley at Chabre, calculating how long they could hang on to the thermals before diving back through the rain as it advanced westwards across the site.  


Great to be back!

In deference to the sensitivities of the remainder of the syndicate, who are no doubt basking in the sunshine of eastern England, we decided not to rig...
