Distractions

Progress of sorts

Well, we got as far as rigging the Duo today! Once again the cumulus brewed up again to the east, but everywhere else the sky was dripping with showers and there was nowhere else to fly to. The general consensus was to stay on the ground today - even team 440 were reluctant to repeat their experiences of yesterday.

Did you feel a gust just then?

Naturally, this sort of unnatural meteorological behaviour can drive even the most well-balanced pilot to distraction, so it is little surprise that Ariane chose to spend the afternoon on the top of Chabre with our house-guest Evan, a skilled paraglider pilot from New Zealand who just happened to have brought along his own tandem rig. After an hour of "shall we, shan't we?" they didn't launch either, proving that the weather god has, if nothing else, a well-developed sense of humour.
